Beach Education Fun

We had a cold but fabulous time at North Beach Surf Life Saving Club today. Thanks so very much to all the helpers : )

We had some special visitors last Friday : )

We also had some Grandparents visit our room after listening to us sing. I found my camera late so only got photos of a couple of Grandparents sorry.

Retirement Home Visit

Today we walked to Merivale Retirement Village in Browns Road. We sang some Christmas carols for the residents. We also gave them some baking and cards that we had made.  It was a really lovely experience for everyone. The children also spoke to the residents. When we got back to school I asked the children what they like about the visit. One child said "I liked the feeling a got when I was talking to them." So very gorgeous.  I think the visit has reinforced for the children that Christmas is a special time to give and not always just to receive.
Thanks to Poppy for coming in and helping us bake the cookies. Thanks also to Sarah, Tracey,Poppy and Neil who came on the trip with us too.
You all would have been very proud of your child.

Here Comes Summer Walk

Please bring your rain jacket to school today. Hopefully our Here Comes Summer Walk will still be on and we can go between showers.

Artists at work

We have now completed our wonderful whale art work.  Come and have a look at our finished master pieces up on the wall.  

To make our art work we first practised drawing a variety of whales using our white boards.  Then we drew one on a piece of paper and painted it.  The background was made using tissue paper.  What do you think?

Special Good Bye

On Friday we said a special good bye to our lovely friend Abe.  His family are moving back to Auckland.  We will miss you Abe!

We sent Abe and James on a 'wild goose chase' in the morning to find some 'rainbow' paint while we made some things for Abe. Thanks for the lollipops Abe!

Birthday Time

Three special people in Room 14 had birthdays in the holidays. Happy birthday to Ella, Charlotte and Shiako.We hope you all enjoy being 8 : )
